Erik
My property is located on the Wild River on the spectacular Atherton Tablelands in northern Queensland, Australia. The property consists of 128 acres of wild untamed bushland in a valley called Silver Valley. It has river frontage and we pump water out of it in winter to water the gardens. The area is situated a few minutes down a dirt road, there are swimming spots on the property, places to find solitude and connect with nature and the hot springs are just down the road.

When we bought the place there was an unfinished brick house, a wooden cabin, a shipping container, three large water tanks and two dams on the property. There were no gardens or orchards. Since then we have built a large shed, put in irrigation, made a chook enclosure and planted many, many trees and more. The place is teaming with wildlife, many birds, marsupials, butterflies, insects and even a snake or two, to be honest (mostly pythons) and more. We also have a growing collection of orchids, a fish tank and a dog.

The journey of making the place into a homestead has been tough at times, but very rewarding. We are now looking for woofers to come and share the space and knowledge. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best, Erik
