Taralee Orchards
Certified Bio-dynamic since 2001, our mixed farm is in the scenic Wirrabara Forest of the Southern Flinders Ranges. We aim to be self-sufficient; growing a large variety of fruit and veggies, and keep free-range poultry, cattle and sheep. Summer fruit season is busy and fun, we appreciate help with jobs such as fruit picking, drying, preserving, packing, jam making, gardening and property maintenance. We sell produce at local farmers markets and shows. Join Renae to build your practical skills, learn how to run a mixed farm and grow and preserve food. Our friendly dogs Pip and Indy will love pats and the sheep, cows and chooks get hand fed daily.
Accommodation in the main house, spare room with double bed. All meals provided, dinner together as a family.
We invite you to be part of our environmentally supportive lifestyle and menagerie of farm animals. Short or longer stays welcome.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We have been WWOOF hosts since 2001, and during that time, we have met many fine people, and have been thankful for their contribution and company. The farm is now run by Renae and she looks forward to having fun and getting projects done together. We enjoy meeting new people and the diversity of experience that WWOOFers provide.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We are a certified ‘Demeter’ biodynamic property, achieving full certification in 2001.
We use and support biodynamic and organic methods, and operate in a holistic and nurturing manner with permaculture principles.
We use the biodynamic preparations, and aim at maximising diversity, with fruit tree orchards, vegetable gardens, free range poultry, sheep, beef cattle, bees, and native vegetation areas.
No agricultural chemicals or artificial fertilizers are used.
