Best Block Friendly Fruit Food Forest Art Farm is a 127 acre (51 hectares) mixed farm made up of pastures, old orchards which are being re-established, new plantings of berries and fruit, proteas, bulbs and other wildflowers, and 50% remnant forest and rock wilderness. A small herd of 14 cattle: 5 Red Angus heifers and 9 Black Angus x Speckled Park cross. Eight dams, mostly very low due to drought conditions in Q1 -Q2 2026. Only 10 minutes drive to Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt. The western farm boundary sides with Broadwater State Forest, a broad expanse of public wild land managed by QNPS.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

The adobe buildings on this farm were built by the previous owners hosting many different WWOOFers. This farm is a legacy to many willing workers. We would like to continue to increase the agricultural productivity of this farm together with today’s WWOOFer community, and share the foundation that is already in place.

Organic/Biological methods we use

No synthetic chemicals – no synthetic fertilisers, herbicides, fungicides or insecticides.

This is a small farm being established after many years of neglect. Pastures have been slashed, deep ripped, treated with compost, and seeded with a clover-kikuyu compost mix. Remaining orchard blocks (pears, persimmons, plums) have been cleaned up: slashed, dead trees removed, compost spread, and fenced. Several dozen young trees have beed added to fill out the blocks. Orchards still need heavy pruning, more composting, mulching and installation of irrigation systems.
In the small crops (berries, vegetables, specialty fruit like finger limes), plants are fertilised with organic compost and thickly mulched with a layer of cardboard and cut grass from slashing the pastures. The same approach will be used in the large orchard blocks. Again, still need to install irrigation systems.
