The O'Connell Family
Currently accepting bookings for March to May 2026. The autumn experience will include cattle work, irrigation, hay making, vegetable gardening, horse work, poultry work, tree planting and maintenance, shed building, bread making and cheese making. For fun we’re spending time with family and friends, playing music (Matt plays guitar and piano, I play the drums and our kids are learning a bit of everything), playing cards, swimming, camping, playing tennis, riding horses, cycling and enjoying the many events that the Scone Horse Festival has to offer in May.
NOTE: DUE TO NUMEROUS FLOODS AFFECTING OUR POSTCODES (2336 AND 2337) WE UNDERSTAND THAT WWOOFING WORK ON OUR PROPERTIES is considered eligible for specified work for the purpose of a second or third Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa.
SUMMARY:

If you’re looking for variety this is it! Beef cattle, dairy cattle, lucerne hay, poultry, horses, vegetables and herbs, cheese making, jam making, brewing and preserving are spread across three amazing locations including a 600 acre grazing property rich with wildlife, walking trails and mountain streams bordering the beautiful Barrington Tops National Park (perfect for camping) and two riverside Hunter Valley irrigation properties with comfortable air conditioned farmhouse accommodation near Scone, the Horse Capital of Australia.
We travel to Sydney, Newcastle and Tamworth regularly with work and are able to help WWOOFers with lifts to and from. Alternatively you can reach our Hunter Valley property via an easy train ride. Once you’re here we have an old vehicle that you can use in your leisure time (just fill it with petrol).

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We love to travel and love meeting WWOOFers. We get to improve and expand our language skills, to learn from our guests and to show our children that the world is a fun and friendly place.

We also love sharing our beautiful properties, our amazing wildlife and sharing a little of what we know about farming and incorporating self sufficiency into your life and your parenting.

Organic/Biological methods we use

Organic vegetable gardening and fruit orchard, free range beef, poultry and dairy cattle, irrigated hay making.
