Why I became a WWOOF Host

We became a WWOOF host because we believe that farming is not just about growing food—it’s also about building community, sharing knowledge, and caring for animals and the land.

Our property is an animal sanctuary and farm where rescued animals receive lifelong care. Hosting WWOOFers gives people the opportunity to experience rural Australian life, learn practical farming and animal care skills, and contribute to a meaningful cause.

In return, I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, exchanging ideas, and creating an environment where everyone learns from one another. I hope every volunteer leaves with new skills, lasting memories, and the satisfaction of making a positive difference for animals and nature.

Organic/Biological methods we use

Ours is an AHIMSA [no kill policy] organic dairy farm. This is an animal sanctuary so all the animals at the farm ie cows, bulls, calves, goats, horses, cats etc.. are nurtured with love and never sent for slaughter. We have dairy cows so milking is done everyday. Policulture, rotational grazing and rotational cropping, composting, promotion and introduction of native species and permaculture is practiced.
