Our property is about 3000 acres of pasture, Woodland, and bushland. There are areas of native grasslands with lots of beautiful wildflowers in the spring. The bird life is prolific in these areas, and all over the farm.
We have planted shelter belts throughout the farm to ease the wind. There are some great spots to swim in the summer.
We have hosted close to three hundred WWOOFers at Millpost since 1992. Hosting WWOOFers has been a valuable exchange of knowledge and skills. WWOOFers have made a hugely positive contribution to our farm’s productivity and thus it’s viability.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We use holistic grazing management techniques to manage parasites in the sheep, and supplement their feed with seaweed and minerals.
In the garden we use mulch to control weeds and manure from our livestock, and make our own composts.
