A mixed farm in the Barossa Ranges of South Australia run with minimal intervention principles by 6 & 7th generation family. The Barossa Ranges is on the eastern side of the Barossa, known as Eden Valley. Our farm has a number of stone buildings, large red gum trees and rolling hills where our sheep graze, interspersed with vineyard and cropping land.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We have a mixed farm and first hosted WWOOFa’s 10 years ago when needed more hands to help after a fire destroyed trees, and fences. It was very successful and we all enjoyed each others company. The Barossa is also a lovely region and we are proud to share it with visitors. Since then we have had a full time worker who has retired and we are now looking to host more willing workers to help with the more every day jobs, of running the farm like, gardening, fencing repairs, wood collection, building maintenance and painting. We are keen to share the understanding of why and how we do things to keep a sustainable farm.

Organic/Biological methods we use

Our farming methods are based around working with nature, tree planting programs, low stocking on grazing pasture, minimal intervention to keep a healthy natural cycle to leave the landscape in better shape for the next generation. Balance is the key word in all we do.
