Grahame and Maria
Ours is a 2ha rural residential property in the Samford Valley on north-western edge of Brisbane containing remnant forest , domestic food gardens, orchards, chickens and fish raising . Registered with Land for Wildlife this sub tropical property incorporates permaculture principles and lifestyle with organic growing, solar power, filtered rainwater, recycled wastewater and composting systems.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

Our children grew up on this property and have now moved on mostly to other farms that successfully host wwoofers, which has encouraged us to host.

We are happy to accommodate any wwoofer who wants to share the work, the learning, the and the cultural exchange with us.

Organic/Biological methods we use

Domestic scale chemical-free production of sub tropical food crops using composting, recycled and bore water, wicking beds, free range chicken raising and fish farming. Integrated pest management using physical barriers and organic sprays. Weed control using tree poppers, sheet mulching, cut and drop, and steam weeding.

We make room for the native wildlife to coexist because they were here before us.
