We live on 5 peaceful acres just outside of Mogo, right near the popular mountain bike trails. Our family of four lives in a modern 4-bedroom home, and we have a separate 3-bedroom house (originally built for a relative) where we host WWOOFers. The property includes a medium-sized veggie patch, chickens, two Jack Russell terriers, and a relaxed ragdoll cat. Our horse is currently spelling at another property but is usually part of life here too!
I became a WWOOF host to share the beauty, rhythm, and resilience of life on the NSW South Coast. Our property, nestled near Mogo and the mountain bike trails, is more than just a home – it’s a space where connection to land, community, and simple living are valued every day.
Hosting WWOOFers allows us to welcome people from all walks of life who are curious, hands-on, and open to learning. In return, we offer not just tasks and accommodation, but meaningful exchange – skills, stories, and shared meals.
I’m passionate about building community, nurturing sustainable practices, and giving others a chance to experience the joy (and reality!) of regional life in Australia.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We use a variety of natural, low-impact methods around our property to build healthy soil and manage pests sustainably. In our chook pens, we use the deep litter method with hardwood wood chips, which breaks down beautifully over time into rich, compost-ready material.
For the garden, we rely on regular mulching, hand weeding, and weed burning to reduce unwanted growth without chemicals. We also use salt and other natural deterrents where appropriate, always aiming to strike a balance between productivity and sustainability.
We’re always experimenting and open to learning new techniques — WWOOFers with an interest in composting, soil health, or regenerative practices are very welcome to get involved.
